Brown James – Plain Brown Rapper

A full-length conscious hip-hop album released in 2005 via XI Sounds. Serving as the parent project to his standout Get It Crackin 12" sampler, this CD delivers a cohesive, soulful boom-bap experience. The bulk of the album's production is anchored by Jihad Al Nafs (Khateeb), with additional heavy-hitting contributions from D.O.X., Autolect, and Poe.

Showcasing Brown James' sharp lyricism and the mid-2000s independent underground sound, the record features familiar cuts like "Black & White" and "Sucka MC," alongside the collaborative posse cut "ADayInTheLife" featuring J.Locke, Mr. Watson, and Poe.
